The Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (SLEP) invites its members to participate in the course “Obesity Across the Life Cycle: A Perspective from Endocrinology and Metabolism”, organized by the Chilean Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes (SOCHED).

The course will take place on August 28 and 29, 2026, in an in-person format at the InterContinental Hotel in Santiago, Chile. The meeting will provide an opportunity for scientific updating and multidisciplinary discussion on obesity throughout the different stages of life.

The program will address the biological and pathophysiological foundations of obesity, as well as its diagnosis, classification and complications. It will also cover topics related to comprehensive management, therapeutic approaches and new treatment alternatives.

The activity is intended for pediatric and adult endocrinologists, diabetologists, nutrition specialists, pediatricians, internists, family physicians, residents, general practitioners, dietitians, physical therapists and nursing professionals, among other specialists involved in the prevention, evaluation and treatment of obesity.

The course will feature international guest speakers, including Dr. Margarita Barrientos from Mexico and Dr. Marta Calbo from Spain. SOCHED is chaired by Dr. Claudia Campusano, while the academic directors of the course are Dr. Javiera Perelli and Dr. Carolina Sepúlveda.

Through an institutional agreement, SLEP has three registrations available for members interested in participating. The registrations will be assigned to the first three professionals who complete the application form.

Important: the course will be held in person in Santiago, Chile. The online form is used to apply for one of the three registrations available through SLEP.
