SLEP Shares the Course Obesity Across the Life Cycle 2026

The course will take place on August 28–29, 2026, in Santiago, Chile, with an endocrinology and metabolism perspective on obesity.

The Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (SLEP) shares information about the course “Obesity Across the Life Cycle: A Perspective from Endocrinology and Metabolism”, organized by the Chilean Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes (SOCHED).

The activity will take place on August 28 and 29, 2026, in an in-person format, at the Hotel InterContinental in Santiago, Chile. The course is designed as a scientific update and multidisciplinary discussion on obesity across the different stages of life.

The program will address topics related to the biological and pathophysiological basis of obesity, as well as its diagnosis, classification, and complications. It will also include an integrated and social perspective on obesity, together with therapeutic management and new available tools.

The course is intended for adult and pediatric endocrinologists, diabetologists, nutrition specialists, pediatricians, internists, family physicians, residents, general practitioners, dietitians/nutritionists, physiotherapists, and nurses, among other professionals involved in the clinical management of obesity.

The activity will include international invited speakers, including Dr. Margarita Barrientos from Mexico and Dr. Marta Calbo from Spain. SOCHED is presided over by Dr. Claudia Campusano, and the course directors are Dr. Javiera Perelli and Dr. Carolina Sepúlveda.
