SLEP Invites Members to Contribute to the International PMOS Guideline Update

SLEP shares an international survey to help define priorities for the 2028 PMOS guideline update, formerly known as PCOS.

The Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (SLEP) informs its members about the invitation received to collaborate in the update of the International Evidence-Based Guideline for the Assessment and Management of Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovary Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

This initiative is led by the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University, in collaboration with international societies including the Endocrine Society (ES), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE).

The guideline update will build on the work published in 2023, incorporating new clinical, scientific, and implementation priorities. As part of this process, international scientific societies, special interest groups, boards, and members are invited to contribute to defining the scope of the new guideline and identifying priority topics.

SLEP invites its members to complete the priorities survey, which will remain open until Sunday, July 26, 2026. Participation from the Latin American professional community is important to provide a regional perspective within an international evidence-based document.

The initiative also includes dissemination of the new name PMOS, proposed to more accurately reflect the endocrine and metabolic nature of the condition. This change is part of a broader global process of clinical, conceptual, and communication update.
