SLEP Summer School 2025: integration and training in pediatric endocrinology

From August 3 to 6, 2025, the SLEP Summer School took place at the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve in Panama, bringing together young professionals and advanced students in pediatric endocrinology from across Latin America.

From August 3 to 6, 2025, the SLEP Summer School 2025 was held, organized by the Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (SLEP) together with MCI, responsible for the Society’s AMC.

This program is aimed at young professionals and advanced students interested in pediatric endocrinology, and it is conducted entirely in English. For three days, participants analyzed clinical cases from the perspective of their own countries, enriched by the insights of international experts.

The 2025 edition took place at the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve in Panama, in a natural environment close to the SLEP Congress venue. The Summer School sought to integrate regions with less access to medicines and strengthen training for professionals in different contexts, including trainees, experts, and non-medical staff working in pediatric endocrinology.

Highlights of the agenda included:

✅ Presentation of clinical cases and keynote lectures.
✅ A cultural exchange dinner, where each delegation shared something typical from their country, fostering integration and networking.
✅ A night safari in search of local wildlife, followed by a special dinner by torchlight.

At the end, participants joined the SLEP 2025 Congress, marking the beginning of the year’s scientific program.

We are proud to create opportunities that strengthen bonds among our members, build new connections with future leaders in the specialty, and address urgent needs in the region.
