CHOP will host Topics in Hyperinsulinism on October 2–3, 2026, with abstract submissions open until May 22.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) will host the Topics in Hyperinsulinism symposium on October 2–3, 2026, in Philadelphia, United States. The meeting will focus on comprehensive education in the diagnosis and management of children with hyperinsulinism.
This two-day symposium will provide practical and specialized education, including lectures on key aspects of hyperinsulinism care, interactive sessions with internationally recognized experts, and updates on recent advances shaping the field.
The program is intended for endocrinologists, neonatologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of pediatric patients with hyperinsulinism, as well as translational scientists interested in beta cell biology, genetics and therapeutic development.
The first day will address topics such as genetic etiologies, molecular diagnosis, rapid diagnostic strategies, medical management, glucose monitoring, 18F-DOPA PET imaging, surgery, histology, post-pancreatectomy diabetes, exocrine insufficiency and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
The second day will offer two academic tracks: a clinical track, featuring simulations, cases and practical sessions on hyperinsulinism management; and a research track, focused on scientific advances in KATP channels, beta cell biology, genetics, physiological responses to hypoglycemia and emerging therapeutic approaches.
The Call for Abstracts is currently open, with a submission deadline of May 22, 2026. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance for poster or short oral presentations by July 15, 2026. A limited number of travel grants will also be available for trainees and junior investigators wishing to apply.
